Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Annabanna ("Annabanna," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you visit annabanna.ai or use our recommendation service (together, the "Service"). It applies wherever you access the Service, worldwide.
If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Service. Because Annabanna is used globally, this policy is written to meet the requirements of the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, and comparable laws elsewhere. Where a specific law gives you stronger rights than described generally below, that law controls.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information you provide directly
- Chat inputs. Text you type describing who you're shopping for, the occasion, budget, and preferences.
- Uploaded images. Photos you choose to upload to help us understand a style, room, or gift context (for example, a photo showing an aesthetic or an item similar to what you're looking for).
- Contact information. If you email us or fill out a contact form, we collect what you send us (e.g., your email address and message).
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Usage data. Pages viewed, links clicked, referring pages, approximate location (derived from IP address), device and browser type, and timestamps.
- Cookies and similar technologies. Used for analytics, advertising measurement, and remembering your preferences. See our Cookie Policy for the full list of cookies in use and how to control them.
1.3 Information from third parties
We may receive limited information from our advertising partners (such as which ad or campaign referred you to the Service) and from our affiliate network partners (such as confirmation that a purchase was made through a link we provided, for commission-tracking purposes).
A note about photos of other people. Please only upload images that are yours to share, or that show objects, rooms, or style references rather than identifiable photos of other people who haven't agreed to it. We do not perform facial recognition or generate biometric identifiers from any image you upload.
2. How we use your information
- To generate personalized product recommendations in response to your chat inputs and any image you upload.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To measure and improve the performance of our advertising campaigns.
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
- To comply with legal obligations.
- To respond to your inquiries when you contact support.
3. How chat inputs and images are processed
To generate recommendations, the text and any images you submit are sent to one or more third-party artificial intelligence service providers (for example, providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google, depending on which we use at a given time) for the sole purpose of interpreting your request and producing a response. These providers process the content under their own data-processing terms and do not receive your name or contact details as part of this exchange unless you include that information in your message.
We do not use the images or messages you submit to train our own models, and we do not sell this content to third parties.
3.1 Retention
Chat messages and uploaded images are processed only to generate your response and are not stored by us afterward — not in a database, and not in permanent logs. Once a response has been generated, that content is discarded on our end. We do not currently offer a way to save or revisit past results; if that changes in the future, this policy will be updated first to describe what's retained and for how long.
This does not cover copies that may exist transiently in the infrastructure of the third-party AI providers we use to generate responses (see Section 3), which is governed by their own data-handling terms, typically on a short-lived basis consistent with API service providers generally.
Aggregated or de-identified usage data (for example, overall traffic volume) that can no longer be linked back to any individual may be retained longer for analytics purposes.
4. Cookies and advertising technologies
We use cookies and pixels from analytics and advertising partners, deployed via Google Tag Manager, which may include Google Analytics, the Google Ads tag, the Meta Pixel, and pixels from native advertising networks such as Outbrain and Taboola. These help us understand how the Service is used and measure the performance of the ads that bring visitors to the Service. Full details, including how to opt out, are in our Cookie Policy.
5. How we share information
- Service providers. Hosting, analytics, and AI providers who process data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
- Affiliate and retail partners. When you click through to a retailer from a recommendation, that retailer (and any affiliate network facilitating the link) may receive information about the referral, generally through cookies rather than information that identifies you personally to us.
- Advertising partners. Aggregated or pseudonymous data used to measure and optimize ad campaigns.
- Legal and safety. Where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Annabanna, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. If Annabanna is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy or a policy at least as protective.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Depending on your jurisdiction, certain advertising activities described above may be considered a "sale" or "share" of personal information under laws like the CPRA — see Section 7 for how to opt out.
6. International data transfers
Annabanna is operated from the United States, and information we collect may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. Where we transfer personal information out of the EU, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. Your rights
7.1 If you are in the EU, UK, or Switzerland (GDPR)
You have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data; to restrict or object to certain processing; and to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Where required, Annabanna will designate a representative in the EU/UK for GDPR purposes; contact support@annabanna.ai for current details.
7.2 If you are in California or another US state with a comprehensive privacy law
You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise these rights, email support@annabanna.ai. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
7.3 Everyone else
Regardless of where you're located, you can email us to ask what information we hold about you or to request that we delete it, and we will honor that request except where we have a legitimate legal or operational reason to retain specific information.
8. Children
The Service is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above, and where required by law, we'll provide additional notice.
11. Contact us
